Get Me

Can you feel or must it be done, do, doing.
Do we need each other’s eyes to feel the warm touch of the heart?
Can two souls be entwined across the miles?
Do you need to spend all day outside to believe a day has gone by?
Must you see the leaves change color to realize a season has come and gone?
Should my body be next to yours when you look at your watch and shovel the snow?
Because I can’t seem to let you know.

You need to let go to understand the universal,
only to lift your eyes to glance at the infinite.
I can’t continue to walk, let the gravity pull me and I will fly.
The wings of love will carry me were I will find the pleasures no two feet can.
Wake up and you will hear the birds sign
Open your eyes and you will hear the brook run.
